Bauchi airport incident a national embarrassment —FG

THE Federal Government has condemned the incident that occurred at the Bauchi Airport Saturday, describing the incident as unacceptable.
The incident, which went viral on many social media networks, involved a Bauchi bound chartered Aero contractor flight which took off from Abuja.
According to information gathered, passengers on board the flight disembarked on landing at Bauchi airport with the help of a ladder as against the accepted use of gangway. The development has generated condemnation and affront to safety.

PDP governors kick against plan to sack 1,000 NNPC workers

THE Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum has thrown its weight behind the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) which has vowed to resist the planned layoff of over 1,000 employees of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
Accusing the Federal Government of embarking on 'shadowy restructuring' of the NNPC, the forum said in a statement issued by its Coordinator, Onaiwu Osaro in Abuja on Sunday, that the plan to sack the over 1,000 employees according to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, was based on a directive from President Muhammadu Buhari.
